A number of schools and other major educational institutions are also located here. The Bhim Rao Ambedkar College affiliated to Delhi University is situated here. Private institutes such as NIIT and Aptech also have their centres here. Yamuna Vihar has good connectivity with all major localities of Delhi, a number of busses ply on this route, there is a Metro station which helps people to commute and has made travelling easy for them. This is one reason why the prices of the area have shown an upward trend in recent times.

The real estate business of Yamuna Vihar has seen a major shift in rates since 2007. As and when the Metro routes were planned, the rates of the areas closer to the stations kept increasing. The psf rates of the area were as low as INR 3500 in 2007; gradually by 2011 the rates increased manifolds eventually making their way up to INR 9300. A house can be bought at INR 4000 psf to INR 9000 psf, depending on the location and number of rooms in the house.
